Who is on first

An old Abbott and Costello routine of similar confusion and mirth.

I love that one. Used to have it in the break room.
Actually terminated a few people when they said “I thought somebody was going to do it”.

Have a great day! 💋

Ah the corporate world I don't miss it at all.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I first saw that about 50 years ago and it would seem that little has changed.

That made me laugh.

It kinda reminded me of when I used to work at a video game store back in the late 90's after I graduated from high school.

I worked at a place where almost all of the promotions came from within, line worker to line supervisor, line supervisor to area supervisor, on up to General Production Supervisor. All of them basically thought that their job was doing paperwork and showing newbies how to use the tools. None of them thought that part of their job was to make sure stuff was put away, tools were available, working at resolving problems in their area. The reason? I was not hired to be a babysitter? I have worked both sides and that is exactly what part of that job is. Once you do it an do it well there is little "babysitting to do.
They eventually went out of business.

If you see me in the real world, come say "Hi Justskin."

I always behave. Preferably not well.

I thought many would be able to relate to the experience and it occurs across all business segments

I laughed out loud too. Scorching hot here. And now hazy from smoke forest fires in the northwest of our province making its way down to the southern region which I don't recall happening before. Wishing you a great week

Touché . I remember those generic statements tossed onto a job description too. Thanks for dropping by.

Wow! Really? That seems a little harsh. There must have been additional reasons for termination. Thanks for dropping by. Perhaps you will again

There's lots I don't miss about it either. I am currently on a short-term contract with the federal government and it is even worse! Will be glad when it ends on July 30.

I had no idea it had been around that long! "The more things change, the more they stay the same" comes to mind

If everyone accepted responsibility and pride in doing a job well, this kind of stuff wouldn't happen. Over my corporate career, I worked countless hours that were unpaid. That "old-school" attitude doesn't exist anymore. People put in the minimum and will move from company to company. Thanks for dropping by and sharing your perspective.
