I have not found any silver lining as per say.. I have and still do wear mine any time I am not in my home.. I have had both my shots as of Feb19. The only thing I can say is I think is shows some order of respect for others that you wear your mask in public.. They are uncomfortable. unhandy, get in the way, they fog up my glasses but it is stated they help and I wear mine.. Thanks for a spot to post, be safe..

There’s a woman at my work who has decided to continue wearing the mask, even though we are all mostly vaccinated in our office. She says that she hasn’t been sick in a year, and she likes it. She usually gets sick every few months, so she’s going to keep using the mask. As for me...it’s the embarrassing and totally not sexy facial hair I don’t like but need to let grow before I go to my electrolysis appointments.

And I now carry several masks, as I refuse to live in one when I’ve sneezed. “Ewww” doesn’t even cover it, so to speak.

And I’m sorry for all the recent loss. Hugs to you Jules. Muah.

well... I was sort of social distanced before social distancing so... maybe I fit in better in The Silver Linings Mask Book (nicely done btw).

Terrible sad news McJ, very sorry to read this. Times are tough enough as it is.

I suffer from hay fever at this time of year, masks and constant sneezing don't go too well together.

Sending positive scottish thoughts your way.

Sorry Too hear of Your recent loses I recently lost a very dear & close Friend too Cancer I also thought My dog was sick with flu like symptoms . After a couple days of not eating or drinking , I took him to the Vet. . Turned out he was diagnosed with Colitis & blood testing also showed diabetes. After discussion with the Vet , the decision was made too put him down
As for the mask thing ; one can make suggestive tongue motions at a Gal that She or No-One else can see

Sorry to hear about all of your recent losses. I think it is good that you could at least go to the funerals.
Silver lining from wearing a mask other than the protection from Covid? Can not say I can think of one. However I would not have met my Love last June if not for so many places closing.
Take care and may your losses take a very long pause an let you enjoy life.

If you see me in the real world, come say "Hi Justskin."

I always behave. Preferably not well.

Saludos

I agree 100%, I like wearing masks. One thing I like is I can conceal my identity if I run into someone at the grocery store and avoid the "hey how are you?," sort of like an episode on Seinfeld.

Sorry for your multiple losses, never easy at any time.
Masks have forced me to get better at reading eyes, and wishing others were as I bore a laser hole through their forehead for not A- backing the fuck away, B - not wearing a mask [a rarity here thankfully] or wearing it under their nose/mouth, C - a combo of A and B.
I also like the anonymity when out and about, and wondering if I know that person approaching me. Getting better at picking up other clues: how they walk, carry themselves, etc.
Thinking back to 2019, seeing someone putting on a mask in their car was a cause for concern, not the opposite is true ... how the times they have a changed lol

Drop in and visit my blog sometime, but you'll probably regret it

So sorry for your losses. The mask is good for hiding facial expressions if I’m having a bad day. 😷 And it can protect my face from a cold wind gust. 🌬

Funny women are incredibly sexy!

That's more funerals than anyone should have to attend in less than a month, you have my sympathy.

Wearing a mask covers my automatic, raised in the south, no matter how hard I try to NOT, "I give a shit" smile. The one that invites every single wingnut here up north to think that I do indeed, give a shit about them.

That and I ate some hearty garlic on a pizza at work the other day and it never made it outside the mask. Well... that I know of.

Sadly, we all have had to say goodbye to loved ones during these crazy tough times. Seems more recently than in the beginning. My parents both lost a cousin in 2021 and tough to say goodbye when you're overseas.

I will be positive one and say the silver lining has been I haven't been sick since the pandemic happened. Usually I get sinus infection, or the flu every year because of my work and travel. Yet, the masks did help me not get sick. The mask also helps keep my ugly face hidden from the masses although my eyebrows can still intimidate others when they show I am angry

I know a few of my female friends are happy with the mask because it means no need to put on make up when they step out of the house.

Stay strong hermosa

My condolences, Jules. Been to a friend's funeral myself this week, As we get older, we unfortunately have to get used to these kinds of events...

As to the mask, I rarely wear one. Here in NZ masks are only mandatory when using public transport. Otherwise conditions here are quite relaxed.

But I have been wondering what would happen, if I entered a bank wearing my mask...

... as per the sentiments of the others, thoughts to you and yours on the passages of life in your extended family....

.... now regarding the supermarket , I miss those instances of utter dismay over the odd behaviors of others..... and the not too subtle smirk of " what the hell is wrong with you" that quickly follows.... and the game of who looks away first..... yup.... bring back normal life quickly please.... it's getting boring out here....

...carpe diem....

I am sorry for your loss as well.
Yes and yes on the mask reducing the seasonal illnesses.

You attorneys and your intimidation tactics. LOL. I have a cherished friend who buzzes his head so as to appear more austere and intimidating to his adversaries in court. I shake my head at him, running my palm over the 1/16th of an inch bristle, "but you have a full thick head of hair that men your age would kill for and you buzz it down to scalp. What the hell."

I'm staying strong. Thank you my dear. Be safe and well.
hugs,
Jules

Thanks dear. Hope we don't have to mourn anymore losses in the near future.

Hold up, he chooses to be bald??? He can have head full of hair and he chooses not to in order to intimidate opposing counsel? Madness.
