To the Bloggers - Creating Your Posts

Out of curiosity and a desire to try out the creating of a poll, I ask you this: do you prefer to write your posts directly on Fuck Mates or do you prefer to write them up ahead of time and paste them in?
always write posts directly in AFF text box
mostly write in AFF text box but occasionally in a text editor
evenly split between AFF text box and text editor
mostly write in text editor but occasionally in AFF text box
always write in text editor then C&P into AFF
me? don't blog myself, just like to read 'em

I always write my posts in a document and the copy/paste it on here. Why? When I first started to blog, I lost two lengthy posts I had written because I didn't back then up. Yep. Clicked submit and poof, gone! Losing my hard work like that was disheartening, to say the least and to this day, I have never tried to recreate the stories I lost. When they're gone, they're gone, I guess. I learned my lesson and started backing my posts up!

Yep, that's happened to me too. Not specifically Fuck Mates, but I've had browsers lock up at the wrong time and lost whatever I'd typed up.

I never learned to type and am a horrible speller, and have no idea of grammar, so all are written in Word and then pasted
And with this , I still have wrong words, improper grammer and missing letters..

I type directly on A.FF. If I lose it? Oh well, I don't write anything earth shattering.
I do read and reread to check for typos before submitting.

I used to just type them in Fuck Mates, then I lost a post. It's not that big a deal for me, cause usually I'm just typing what I think. So I redid it.

But after someone on here mentioned typing it out elsewhere then C&P here..I decided to follow the sage advice.

I write most, but not all, of my posts in Word.

I usually work them out with pen and paper first.

Please don't let me be misunderstood.

FresnoWoman replies on 11/15/2018 1:02 pm:
Oh! I didn't even think of someone writing a possible post out by hand first. Thanks for pointing that out as a possibility.

I've gotten so far away from writing things by hand, clearly, except for signing checks and the occasional short Post-it note.

Thanks for all the comments and votes to satisfy my curiosity. For those of you who were wondering what I prefer to do, I type my posts in Fuck Mates directly but I select all, then copy the text before hitting "post" just in case the browser or the website fails for some reason.

I agree with classicalrebe, I have a few notebooks I write in, then take that to Word, then copy and paste.

The main reason I do this is I'm a slow typer. I use to henpeck the keys but the more I do it the better I'm getting.

Another good reason to do it is if you have a problem like a power outage, lost connection, the cat jumps up on the keyboard or and it happened, dog eats laptop you have a backup file you can go to.

Hi FresnoWoman.

I always write them in word... never lose 'em that way...

also, I can go back and re-post if I feel the need...

I don't have to have elaborate indexes on the site... I just go by date and title...

makes it easy...

thanks for sharing....

Like the Truckluvins say, it can be dangerous to write them in direct. Although I still do sometimes, and these days the glitches seem less prevalent. But if you do write anything at all lengthy or heartfelt, be careful!!

Typically in this sites text box, but there have been occasions where the site decides to crash and I have to either rewrite my blog, or say "screw it" and try again a couple weeks later.

Or worse, say screw it and never get back to that intended post.
