New ball game

In case you did not notice, the whole world changed with the 2018 elections. The Republicans picked up just 2 Senate seats but that means 53 GOP and the Dems control the house by about 30 seats. In the Senate by rule 60 votes are needed to pass any laws.

Over the last two years the only things Trump has gotten through Congress are regular bills to fund the government and a $1.5 trillion tax cut for the rich and corporations. He has also gotten some conservative judges appointed and his shoddy Cabinet.

Now Trump can pass no laws unless he has Dem support in Congress. The Trump agenda is over. Trump wants a $25 Billion dollar wall on the Southern border. Not going to happen. He will get $1.6 billion for fencing. I read landowners are still fighting George W. Bush wall proposal from 2001 in the courts. 17 years old litigation.

Trump can shut down the Federal Government over his wall. Not going to get a wall built.

Trump needs to learn to play nice with Dems or he will get nothing done, as deserved.

Notice the Senate just revolted about Saudi Arabia? More of that is coming. Even GOP Senators can see a wounded animal dying. Wait until more indictments and the Mueller report.

The Dems need to pass some laws improving the infrastructure, including election ballots and polling stations, ending partisan gerrymandering and ending voter suppression.

Fasten the seat belts, bumpy ride ahead.

Now the interesting idea. Will Trump die in office, resign, get impeached, or lose 2020? My guess is lose in 2020, but I will take any elimination of Trump under any circumstances so long as he goes away. The idea of six more years of Trump is too awful to contemplate.

Agreed to most of what you wrote. However, impeaching or the resignation of trump creates a bigger problem - Pence. Pence knows how to work the system and how not to be as openly moronic as trump. The republican platform would probably benefit were trump to be gone and Pence in. Pence would also have a better shot at 2020 than trump if trump were to be impeached. Pence would likely pardon trump et al if he wins the 2020.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Recall Gerald Ford did not do well pardoning R. Nixon. I don't like Pence but he is better and less corrupt and dishonest than Trump.
